Save Outlook Express Email settings

How to export your outlook express email settings
Import to Windows Mail Vista or another PC

1. Open outlook express
2. Click on tools
3. Then click on accounts
4. Then click on the mail tab
5. click once on the email account you wish to export to select; (save as a backup or to import into another computer)
6. Click on export button on the right
7. Browse folders and click on my computer and then the drive letter you wish to export the email account settings to
8. You can type in a new file name, for example: you@domain.com or leave the file name as is like mail.gmail.com (Doesn’t make a difference what you call this, just name it so that you know which account it is)
9. Then click on the save button
10. It will be called whatever you named your account with a .iaf file extension at the end of your email file account name

To import your outlook express email settings onto another computer 

1. Open either outlook express or Windows Mail on Windows Vista
2. Click on tools
3. Then click on accounts
4. Then click on the mail tab
5. Delete any old email accounts that you know are incorrect settings or that you no longer have first [left-click once on the email account to select; click on remove button on the right; click OK to remove the account]
6. Click on import button on the right
7. Click on my computer and browse to the removable disk drive letter you saved your email account settings file to
8. Click once on it to select the email account name you@domain.com or mail.domain.com
9. Then click on open button
10. Click close
11. Click send and receive to be sure the new account is working correctly. (maybe send a test message to a friend or your self. If is sends without errors and either you or your friend receives it back…Then you imported your email account successfully.)
